Let the summer begin!

I am officially done with summer school! Now the summer fun can begin.. with a month left before school starts again! I had my last paper due this morning (which ended up being 13 pages long!) for my class that ended last Friday. I can't believe I am done! Also just to let everyone know, I will be done with school in December now after I do my student teaching this fall. I was originally planning on getting a minor in Public Relations in addition to my Elementary Education major, but I just decided to drop it, leaving me with just my student teaching left! I can't believe I am going to be a college graduate so soon! My dad mentioned a while ago how I am going to be the first college graduate out of the siblings. Git git! Take that! Wow it feels good to finish and get a Bachelors degree in 3 1/2 years..

I almost forgot to mention the fact that I even got a " Yay, you are done with school!" present from Loni (and 1/16 of it was from Crystal). It was a Utah State mug that Loni spent so much time trying to pick out at the bookstore. She even had it gift wrapped. What a great friend!




Anyway, so yeah I plan on staying up here in Logan in the spring and just working or whatever, and then I will start teaching the little chillins fall of 2009. who would have thought the end of college would come around!

Also a little side note.. I am obsessed with the Joker (my love for Heath will never die) in the new Batman movie, as well as with Step Up 2, and Mamma Mia. They are all FANTASTIC shows that I would highly recommend seeing!

Breakin' It Out with The Rocket Summer

Just to let everyone know, The Rocket Summer is coming in concert on September 19th! This is one of my favorite bands and I have never had the chance to see one of their shows! I have always been gone or working or whatever on the night that Bryce and his one man band would come to Salt Lake. I have missed seeing him four times over the last year or two. The curse will now be lifted because nothing will stop me from making it to the show on September 19th! Everyone is welcome to come! We can make it a big party with Bryce Avary!

A Tribute to the Betas

I feel it is about time that I blog about my beta fish, Monkey. This is dedicated to beta fish all around the world, even to those who have passed on to the next life i.e. Opti, Rachel and Dave's beta, and Braden's beta the "no name caper" who just dissapeared one day from his bowl (He was later found dead and dried up in the heater vent that was next to the fish bowl).

On May 6, 2008 Monkey was adopted into our home and has become a part of the family. He was rescued by myself as he was almost thrown into First Dam by a friend who did not care for him anymore. Monkey's life was spared that day as I Morgan felt the need to take him under my wing and care for him as my own. The name Monkey was the original name the previous owner had, so I only thought it would be proper to keep his name for his own identity's sake.

Monkey is a very special part of our lives, even though he does have issues with being a wuss (He freaks out when I put my face up to the side of the bowl, I mean come on! Seeing two giant eyes right next to you should not scare the crap out of you) and is kind of moody at times. He even has friends with other betas including Lil' Keem and Bowser, who are owned by Sarah and Dione. He loves being fed and loves his newly remodeled home. His favorite past time includes swimming after a bobby pin that I stick in the top of the fish bowl and move it around to give him some excercise.

Monkey is family and will be until the day I die, or he dies, which ever one may come first! Spread the love for fish and become an owner today!

The Weekend of Fantastic-ness!

This was quite the weekend to set the summer right! I absolutley love those summer days and this weekend just made it that much better!

On Friday I came home to The Ville, and went to see Wall-e with mi familia. Being the great critic that I am I gave it four stars for its romance, comedy and inspiration for all to want to change the world, or at least save the earth, one piece of garbage at a time. It was another success from Disney and Pixar! That evening I went to a friend's wedding reception and chilled with my little sis and her friend, as I was their chauffeur for the night.

Saturday was Taylorsville Dayzz (You have to spell it with the double z or it is incorrect) where I got to go to the parade that morning and to the BEST FIREWORKS EVER that night. I absolutley LOVE getting together with all my old friends from high school and watching the fireworks! This is one of my favorite things I look forward to each summer. This weekend I also went to a Rindlisbacher family reunion, which was surprisingly fun (love you family! For time and all eternity!) and then went to Lagoon on Monday. (Jamie and Ayden, it was good to see you guys there!). I was very sad that I did not get to go to Warped Tour, but I didn't hear too much about its amazing-ness, so I think I might survive.


It was a great weekend and now the fourth of July is just around the corner! I am going to crush everyone at the races in Copperton Thursday morning!

A little thing we like to call Warped Tour

This Saturday is quite an event in the history of punk and rock music. That is right kids, Warped Tour is back on the road and it will be coming to a city near you (Salt Lake City to be exact) this Saturday! Unfortunately I will not be attending this sweaty, nasty, pot smoking event, where many of those old and new rock bands come to let the world know who they are and maybe sell a few albums while they are at it. I attended last year and heard many of my favorite bands play through out the long hot day at the state fair grounds. There are probably 50-70 bands that play through the whole day and it is always a rush to try and get to the next stage in time to see another band play. Last year the highlights of Warped Tour for me were Paramore, Boys Like Girls, Anberlin, Yellowcard, and I hate to say it, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Those were just a few of the good bands that I enjoyed while crowd surfing and getting stepped on through the crowds of crazy people.

So this year, I decided to save the money that I do not have. I will not get the chance to see The Audition, We The Kings, Anberlin, Relient K, Forever The Sickest Kids and many others that have made up some dang good music. If anyone plans to go to the tour let me know and maybe you could buy me a shirt or something like that. If anyone would like to start a fund or make a donation to the "Send Morgan to Warped Tour" fund, I will not turn anything down. Thanks y'all! You're great!

ALLRED!

Last Saturday night me and Lon got to go and see John Allred in concert. He calls himself Allred, but his band used to involve playing with his brother and a few other band members. He has since then gone solo and played such a great show, for three hours! This was his last time playing in Utah for a while, because he is going back east to go home for a bit. He is such a lady's man and won over our hearts with his beautiful voice! He is a bit cocky and kind of bitter toward a lot of things, but he made up for that bad attitude when he played one of my favorite songs, "Can't Wait." Love it!

My mother really discourages me going to concerts because I am a poor college student, but I continue to go and at least enjoy spending money on one thing that I love to do! Shows are usually 10 to 20 dollars (plus the shirts that I usually buy) which is great for me to have a good time and live in the moment! One day, I will take Tamara with me to a show and she will see how great it really is! Love you mom!

Class begins once again!

Today was the first day of my Diversity in Education class. It is going to be an intense two week class with none other than Cinthya as my teacher! She was my professor last semester for my Second Language Acquisition class as well. Our class goes everyday from 8-12. FOUR HOURS EVERYDAY!! I hope I can survive. When we got to class today I asked Cinthya if we could go to Angie's restaurant on the last day of class..

SIDE NOTE:
On the last day of school this past semester, me and a bunch of girls from my class overheard a few of our professors (one of them including Cinthya) talk about how they were all going to go to breakfast one day at Angie's and talk about the recent research they have been doing in the Education department. Anyway, so we decided it would be funny if we showed up at the same time and sit by them while they eat. Believe it or not, we showed up and sat right by three of our professors as they discussed the psychologists Vygotsky and Bakhtin. The girls even dared me to go and sit by them and join in on their conversation. Of course I did it, and the professors just smiled and said, "Morgan you are just so smart for an undergrad. Tell us more about what you have learned this semester!" Ha ha! The girls at the table were dying of laughter as I came back to the table quickly to avoid getting stuck talking about things I did not remember from class, with the teachers who held my grade in the palm of their hands. What an experience to always remember!

So back to the original topic, We will be able to go to Angie's restaurant with our professor on the last day, just to celebrate the good old days. I will be sitting in class with 8 other students (that is right, there are only 9 students in the classroom) everyday for four hours as Cinthya lectures, telling us we have no idea what diversity entails and we have no idea how to handle it because we were not born in another country like she was born in Nicaragua. Just kidding! I love you Saavedra! Until next time, I need to get crackin on the 120 pages I have to have read for class tomorrow. Later gators!

Headstands

As a young girl, I was never able to get the hang of doing a headstand. Even in high school when I did most of my dancing, I was never able to do them! Well now I am entering my last year of college and I have become a pro with performing this movement well known in the art of yoga. A good friend of mine, by the name of Loni Pilcher is my right hand woman when it comes to headstands. It all began in this past spring semester when Loni would always do headstands because the "spinning dial of death" would come across her computer. Instead of sitting there and waiting, stressing, and attempting to be patient, she decided to make good use of her time and practice headstands while she waited for her computer to take a chill. Ever since then I have followed her example and began to do the same thing when my computer would show up with the spinning dial of death!

There have been a couple of bad experiences.. Loni has had some strange issues that have now been scientifically proven to affect the human body, and I have had accidents where I was actually injured at the neck for falling out of a headstand. Both of us have persevered and have made it to continue doing headstands daily.

Headstands have changed our lives for the better, and we hope to spread the joy and love of them to who ever wants to relieve stress and to protest against the spinning dial of death! Wherever you see two girls with their feet in the air standing on their heads, there you will find Morgan and Loni just chilaxin. Stay sweet. Lata

BABY AUSTIN!

I am an aunt! As of last Tuesday the 20th, there has been a new addition to the Rindlisbacher family! Alex and Evelyn had their baby boy, finally after being a week past the due date. I was able to come down for the day on last Wednesday from Logan to see the dark haired boy. Me and Austin are pretty tight with the fact that we can speak baby to each other. I still can't believe my mom is a grandma! Dad, well.. he has looked like a grandpa for years, ha ha! Love you dad! I am so happy for Alex and Evelyn! Congrats!

Who would ever do summer school? No one but yours truly!

Summer school. No one in their right mind would ever want to do it. That is why I Morgan decided to go where no one would ever go. I decided to take summer classes here at the wonderful Utah State University. It gave me a great excuse to stay in Logan for the summer with all of my peeps and get a little farther in school at the same time. The classes I am taking are also known to be much easier in the summer and get done in just a few short, but very intense couple of weeks. Here is the low down of the two classes that I will be finishing this week!

So as you all should know by now I am an elementary education major just trying to get those last few random classes done before I student teach in the fall. Which by the way I am way excited for!
Side note: I got my student teaching placements this week! I will be student teaching at Hillcrest Elementary (4th grade) and at Edith Bowen (2nd grade).

Anyway, so the two classes I have been taking over the last few weeks include, teaching P.E. and teaching Music. These classes have been great! I have learned things like how to dribble a basketball, how to run jump and skip and how to play games with the parachute! In music I have now learned how to play the recorder, the autoharp (which I plan on taking on tour across the Cache Valley, maybe even to Salt Lake if I make it big enough up here.) and the conga drums. I really hope to have a conga drum in my classroom.. no joke. I would love to make my students have poetry readings as I play the drum to set the mood. ha!

Overall these two classes have been great and I am so glad that I got them done in less than a month! I had a countdown chain in my music classroom and everyday I would come to class I would rip one off. We are now down to having two links on the chain for the last couple of days of school! I will miss our crazy music teacher (who by the way has studied the recorder in England and knows the 5 professional recorder players in the U.S.).

Well Well Well! It has been over a year and a half since I have "blogged" about the wonderful life of Morgan! I always thought that Facebook was the craze these days, but now it is all about blogs!

Morgan's life as of May 20, 2008
I am still in Logan for the summer, and I am loving every minute of it! Me and Loni were here by ourselves for a week or so creating many memories and just having many bonding experiences. From potting plants to getting bikes for the summer from Aggie Blue Bikes, it has been such an adventure! Not to mention the fact that we got to see Everybody Else in concert last week. What an amazing band. Lon, I still want to see them pics posted on Facebook..

Anyway, so now Crystal and Steph are back from their little vaca's (yes Tamara, that is short for vacation, and I will use it until the day I die) so I am not the only one living here in my little apartment located at The Compound. Crystal had her 21st birthday on Sunday so we took a little visit to the bar the White Owl in Logan. Then of course we threw a huge party at the compound last night, making us the hottest place to be on a Monday night. It is great to have my friends back in Logan so we can party all summa long!

I could write a little section all about summer school, but that is another blog for another day.. I could go on for pages about my teaching PE and teaching music classes. You will all just have to wait for that one.

Yes folks, the summer has just begun and it is already off to a great start!
