A JOB! A JOB! A JOB!

I finally found a teaching job! Aww yeah! This last week I interviewed at Academy Park Elementary in West Valley, and was hired as a third grade teacher! Oh man! I could not be more ecstatic right now!

This picture just reiterates my excitement..

The transition has already begun..

What is this? Blogging, twice in one week?!! Get out of town!

Since I have moved back to Salt Lake, I feel like I already own the city! Ha! The transition from my life in Logan has already started, and so far I think I am dealing with it pretty well..

On Saturday Steph, Crystal, and I went to the Real Salt Lake soccer game along with Kayla, Alex, and Evelyn. It was fantastic! Even though the game was not that exciting, as it ended in a tie, we got to stay and watch David Archuleta perform after the game! The cool thing was that some random boys came and gave Steph Crystal and me V.I.P. passes to go on the field for the show! We had a blast, as we even ran into some friends from Logan who were there to party it up with Mr. Archuleta as well!

Still on the job search.. There was a possibility this last week that I almost ended up back in Logan to teach, but in the end, I was not hired for that position at the school I have been working at. That was kind of a nerve racking thing, to think I would have to move back to Logan and begin another chapter of life up there. I would have been fine with it, but I guess it was not meant to be after all.

I started working at the Kohl's down here this week, after I transferred once again from the Logan store. Depending on when I find a teaching job, will predict when I quit working the retail world once and for all! I sure hope that time comes soon, for I would love to have the job/career that I would enjoy and truly love!

That is all for now! Peace and love.

What? Morgan is Still Alive?!?!

Yes, everyone, I am still alive! And I am blogging again! Ha! I just love keeping everyone on the edge when I don't blog for four months, but I recently felt like I should stop torturing people. Facebook is my better connection to the world, so check that out if you want more recent updates from me. And maybe, just maybe, I will read everyone else's blog while I am on here! I apologize for neglecting the rest of the blogging world.. I will try to do better.

The end of the college career this semester was fantastic! So many memories were made as we lived up every moment and made it the best! Spring break was great, taking a trip with the girls to Southern California, friends getting married, and just living up every thing that went on with Utah State and school activities. I can definitely say that I lived up ever year and even everyday that I spent in the last four years of college.

(Loni's wedding reception, this was one of those great moments captured with the camera of us girls/former roommates.)

Guess what? I am an official college graduate! Git git! May 2nd was graduation day, and I was finally able to walk and do the whole commencement thing even though I did finish school in December. It was so good to see all of those people that I have known in the last four years of school and to see that we all finally made it!

Right now I am still looking for a teaching job. I am very happy that everyone is concerned about me finding a job, but I get asked at least twice everyday if I have found a teaching job yet.. the answer is still no, and I promise that when the day comes that I find a job, the ENTIRE WORLD will know, because I will make it known! Ha! Either with my loud obnoxious voice or I will find another way.. maybe through blogging? :)

Life is pretty chill otherwise though. You would be surprised how hard it is to go from being so crazy busy for four years and then the day after you graduate, you just sit on your butt, looking for anything to do! That is when I end up watching the entire Trilogy of Back to the Future in one day! Goodness.. so if anyone has some great hobby ideas, please throw them my way, because as weird as it sounds, I am not a huge book person (and to think that I am going to be a teacher.. ha)

Ya know though, this could all finally change if and when I find a job, and then it will just be crazy busy getting a classroom set up! Oh how I dream for that day to come..

I moved back to my parents house in Tville this last week, however, I am pretty much still living in Logan. I just can't stay away from the people I know and love! Mom and dad, I do love you, but you understand.. I know you do. :)

Steph and me hiking in Logan Canyon

This summer really has been great so far, and I have so many great plans in store as well! Spending parts of my summer in Logan is just great, because everyone knows the summer up here is amazing! So many fun things to do! I also have a great line up of shows I am going to or have gone to already:

1. Paramore/ No Doubt- Fantastic!
Still to come:
1. David Archuleta!
2. The Audition
3. The Cab
4. Ace Enders
5. The Fray and Jack's Mannnequin

One of the pictures from the amazing show!

It is going to be a great next few months, also taking trips with my family to Bear Lake, and hopefully dad will get the wave runner going so we can go boating with the fam as well. And who could forget going to Lagoon! I am planning on spending time with my roommates who are no longer my roommates since we are now going our separate ways..

Good news following that last sentence, one of my best friends, Crystal is going on a mission! She got her mission call a few weeks ago and she is going to the Manaus, Brazil mission! The fiery red head gets to speak Portuguese in the middle of the Amazon! Ha! She leaves September 16th, which is forever away! We are all so excited for her to go!

The night Crystal opened her call!

Alright, I think I have written a long enough novel for you all to have your hands on, maybe for another few months.. ha! Kidding.. But seriously, here it is, and if you have any questions for me about other things in my life, go ahead and write me a comment with your inquisition. I would love to hear it! I love you all and thanks for being great people that care about me and love to make sure I am still alive!

"Morgan, what the heck are you doing with your life right now?"

So I think I get questions like these at least fifty times everyday, "Morgan, why are you still up here in Logan? What are you doing with your life? Didn't you graduate?"

I promise I am not angry or trying to sound ornery at all, I am just speaking my mind right now :)

Sometimes I wish people would just stop asking questions..Is it such a problem to just take a break from life and everything after you finish school? What is wrong with not wanting to start teaching until fall when the new school year starts? My intervention with this problem is to just write it all out on my blog to tell the world about my "inexistent mysterious life" right now.

Yes I promise I have a job. I am actually hired through three different employers right now, Kohl's, Kelly Services for substitute teaching in the Logan School District, and through Edith Bowen Lab School, where I am also substitute teaching. However, being hired through three different employers does not always mean that I am working.. This is why:
#1 Kohl's. Since the Christmas rush is over in the retail world, there are not to many hours for us to be working. They definitely cut back on hours so I am only working about twice a week there.
#2: Substitute teaching through Kelly Services. I just got hired through Kelly Services this week, so now I am hoping to get on the list and get some jobs going. I am subbing this Friday!
#3: Substitute teaching at Edith Bowen Lab School. It is coming along, but they really only have me on the list of people you need to "let know in advance" for subbing days, because my priority lies with Kelly Services.

Here is what I do with the rest of my life:
#1: I have many books on my list to read, so hopefully I will be able to get through them all before April.
#2: I am also still doing my PR job at the Service Center and all of that fun stuff at USU, so I am still very involved with the University.
#3: Aggie Basketball season!
#4: I have some hobbies that I would like to start. I have recently started to play racquetball, and believe it or not, I am kind of working out as well!

So there you have it! My life! When May 2nd comes around, I think I will be totally ready to finish my time at Utah State and all that I have been involved with over the last four years.

This is just one of the many pictures Loni took of me during photo shoot #1 for my graduation pictures. Just trying to make the A look good!

Time to catch up

Wow, two months have passed with out a single blog post! Let's summarize my crazy exciting life!

I am now done with college! I finished my second block of student teaching with the second grade, which turned out to be another great experience compared to the first block with my fourth graders. I had an interview with my supervisor at the end of the semester, and she told me that I really made the best decision to become a teacher. She said that I should tell my parents that I really did choose the right field for myself. Things have all worked out so well with going into education, and I am so excited, yet still scared, to go and become a teacher. I have finished school now, but I am not walking in graduation until the spring semester, when all of my friends walk.

Speaking of friends, also one of my best friends Janaca got married in November! She is one of the Fantastic Four with me Alex and Steph. The wedding was gorgeous and everything went so well for Janaca and Jared. She is now Janaca McDougal Seegrist! Congrats chica! Here is a picture of Steph, Missy, Janaca, me, and Alex after the wedding reception.

The Service Center has been keeping me busy as well on campus. We had our Stuff A Bus fundraiser this year, where we raised over 20,000 lbs of food, $10,000 dollars and plenty of gifts all for the Food Pantry and Sub for Santa in Cache Valley. It was amazing how much help we got from the college students and the community with the fundraiser. We reached our goal, which even doubled what was raised last year at Utah State! We helped so many families to have such a good Christmas this year! Love it!

What else? I got to celebrate the end of the semester with going to see Anberlin in concert, which was a blast! I even got to give Stephen the lead singer a kiss on the cheek at the show, just to show him how much I appreciate him and the music that the band makes.. ha ha!

Basketball season has also begun, since the last time I blogged. The Aggies have had so many good games so far, even beating the University of Utah by two points this week! The BYU game was a sad loss for the Aggies a few weeks ago, but it was still a good game to be at since we played them at the Energy Solutions Arena. I made sure that my id card is still going to be active next semester, even though I am not a student, just so I can go to all of the games! I can't wait to see what else the Aggies have in store for rest of the season.

It is now Christmas time, and I am home in the Ville for a couple of weeks, just spending some quality time with the family. Merry Christmas to everyone! You are all amazing and thanks for the love and support you give to me in my life!

My Hillcrest Heartbreak

It is now half way through the semester and I just finished up my first block of student teaching.. ask me how I feel about it being over.. then again you might not want to ask me because I might get so sad and start a whining cry, or get so angry that I will kick over a chair. I really did not want to leave the fourth graders! They were so great and so fun to learn from! Hillcrest Elementary will always hold a special place in my heart. Next week I start my second block of student teaching at Edith Bowen Elementary with second grade. It will definitely be hard for this school to top the last one, but I will still have a blast I am sure! Life is busy as always from student teaching, to working with the Service Center, to working at Kohl's on the weekend, to being the best fhe mother in the 60th ward, to trying to have some sort of social life.. it is great! Life can't get any better! As Paramore would say, "For a pessimist, I am pretty optimistic" :) Life is good if you make it good!

The time of my life..

Yes everyone, this will be the last time I talk about it, but I finally got to see The Rocket Summer in concert last Friday. Everyone is so sick of hearing me talk about it, but it honestly was one of the best shows I have ever been to! Friday was such a long day at school, and I was just so ready to go and have a good time! (Especially since half of the people at the show were all in high school, kids that were born in the 90's)

All in all, the show was great, I made my way up pretty close to the stage and had some great connecting moments with Bryce as we made eye contact. Ha! He is such a talented artist who played the drums, key board, guitar and sang all at different parts of the night. Not only is he talented but his song-writing skills are amazing with such great lyrics! I came out of the show on such a high! That sounds so cheesy, but it really is one of the great reasons I love going to concerts. That is why it is worth every penny to go! Here are a few of the pictures from my great Friday night.
