Will Cars Ever Fly?
With my recent experiences of riding on airplanes, I have been considering this idea: Will we ever have flying cars?
To this, I say NO. I had two of the flights within the last week either delayed or cancelled because of the terrible airline service (which shall remain anonymous) I was with as well as the weather. It gave me plenty of time to think about the idea presented in the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part II:
In this movie, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, along with Steven Spielberg and other producers, came up with the idea that in the year 2015, when Marty McFly visited the future(the film takes place in 1985), there would be all sorts of "futuristic" things like hover boards, ovens that cook pizza in like 3 seconds, doors that open with the touch of your fingerprint, and of course, cars that can fly.
I have always thought over the years, that there is no way we could ever reach this point by the year 2015, granted that it is now only 4 years away. I have always threatened the idea of suing the director when that year comes to prove his idea from over 20 years ago was incorrect. I had always hoped that we would have flying cars. False hope is what they created in my mind.
SO here are the reasons in reality why we will never have flying cars:
1. People in this world do not have enough common sense to deal with cars that fly. They will kill themselves. It is just like when Utah decided to allow the new fireworks to be used, and half of Utah about killed themselves on the fourth of July this year, because they do not know how to handle new ways of life like that.
2. We cannot afford it. Think about how we would have to fund schooling to teach people how to drive a flying car. The government would not be happy with adding that to the national budget.
3. Weather would not permit it. There would be too many problems with bad weather causing people to not be able to fly. Not to mention the lightning that could strike a car flying in the air.
4. When it comes to cars crashing in the sky, you would have people crashing, and then falling from the sky, making those sky crashes even worse.
5. The energy needed to make cars fly.. who knows what that would be? It will take scientists years to figure out the best way to power a car enough to make it fly through the air.
6. Two words: Trailer hitch. How could you make cars travel through the sky with a boat or a camper hooked to the back?
7. Motion sickness.
8. Boundaries. Are we going to create some sort of force field to keep cars in certain areas of the sky? I mean the sky has no limits.
9. Having so many cars flying through the air will ruin my view of the sky, especially during rush hour traffic. Not to mention the noise it will create in the sky.
10. Save the birds!
11. Oil leaking from the sky.. No bueno.
12. I hate to bring this one up, but it will definitely become a high risk for terrorist attacks as it will be easier to crash a car into buildings.
That is all for my list right now. I would keep going, but my father has just informed me that I am wasting my time typing about a silly topic. As I sleep tonight I am sure that I will come up with more ideas. I am open to any other ideas that you may have as well! Just remember, as much as Marty McFly and the Doc make flying look so great in BTTF Part II, it is much more complicated than you think..

Domination!
I just dominated my 2nd year of teaching! Who would have thought I could make it through two years as a teacher?! I am so blessed in my life to be in the spot I am at. I am going to miss my students.. Those kids definitely left a spot in my heart. I feel like each year as a teacher I will be able to enjoy it more and more as I am learning how to handle teaching, as well as be able to enjoy the time I spend with my students. Each year is going to get better and better!
I didn't even mention another great achievement! On May 7th, I participated in my first cycling event.. 40 miles baby! I had never ridden more than 15 before this event, so I was somewhat nervous to push myself that hard. At about mile 32, I honestly though I was going to DIE. My muscle in my left leg tightened up and I had to stop to pound on it to loosen up. After about a minute it did, and I kept going.. surprisingly, I finished! I was so excited to dominate this challenge and to achieve something I had never thought I could do before.
It was an amazing exhilarating feeling to cross that finish line. I felt like I could do anything at that moment (except ride another mile.. ha)!
A few weeks before school got out, my dear friends of the SSS and I took a weekend trip to California just because we could.. :) It was a great time spent on the beach and just shopping at the normal H&M. It was another fabulous road trip dominated by the ladies.
Now, here comes summer. So many excited plans await for the next two and a half months! From trips to Oregon and Washington, to Washington D.C., to Bear Lake and to many other activities in the Salt Lake Valley.
I will be dominating the country from coast to coast! I hope you are all ready for this..

Let us all begin this rescuing process if we have not already. I have seen many friends from my old ward come back to the church, all because of the examples of friends, and others in their lives that have shown them love and kindness. That combined with their own efforts to remember their testimony, and to not forget, helped them in the process to change their hearts and turn back to Christ.
The time is NOW to share your testimony, invite someone to church, or just simply show your love through the example of Christ. Whether you are a young single adult, or married with kids in a family ward, it is so critical to bring back those who need to be rescued.

On My Mind..
One of my favorite songs by Stars Go Dim. There are a few reasons why, but all in all, it is just simply amazing.
This week during the Royal Wedding, I was captivated by the amazing beauty of the whole event and all that took place. Most of all I could not get over how beautiful Kate was in her dress, as I know the rest of the world loved it as well. I won't lie, I got a little teary eyed after the ceremony. They are truly a couple who are in love, and I wish them the best!

It has already been a month!
March 22, 2011.. My dearest sister missionary came home! I can't believe that a year and a half has already come and gone, and it seems as if she never even left us!

To those who helped create the Best Few Months... EVER!
I think it is about time I blog about something.. Something that has taken over my life for the past few months..
So I feel like I have kind of been MIA in the blogging world since my birthday, and that is because I have been spending quite a bit of time with those people who have had a fabulous influence on my life, and have had an impact that has officially changed my life for the better.
So we can start with the group here in Salt Lake called the Fantastic Four. In February I found myself spending a lot of time with some friends that just always made me feel so positive and made me feel like I didn't have a stress in the world. We would always have a good time and never just gossiped about others, but always had thought provoking ideas and great conversations. To top it all off, we just had the Best Weekends Ever, EVERY weekend! These fabulous people named Tate, Ethan, Bronwyn and myself, along with a group of other friends, just seemed to really hit it off from the beginning. Through the month of February, March and April, we always seemed to be on the same page and had so many fun adventures every week, outside of our crazy working lives. We ended up at the cabin in Brighton, weekend trips to St. George, going to the movies, going to Park City, hitting up Mardi Gras in Logan, etc. It made it even more fun to get together and to talk about our different lifestyles, Morgan in the teaching world, Tate and Bronwyn in the business world with their careers, and Ethan, working, but preparing for his mission.

I truly believe in this quote, and I feel like our little group of friends for the past few months was full of "Great Minds" :)
What made it even better was to be with our other friends, and for Crystal to get back from her mission (That's right everyone! Crystal is home from Brazil now!) and for her to join us. Even when Steph would come down from Logan, and Jason and Shannon would take a break from their "engaged" lives to join us. It is always a pleasure for Halie, Ian, Teri, and Andreas to come along as well. It was just the perfect group of friends, and I want to thank them as well as others for their positive influence in my life.
Now things may be a little different with the group, Ethan has left on his mission to Eugene Oregon for two years, and things have not been the same. The group is going to miss that kid. I especially feel like I am going to miss him! Elder Collins is out serving the Lord, and we all know that he is there for the right reasons, and that we were in each other's lives for a reason before he left. Now the new adventure begins of writing and sending fun packages to him! It is time to move on with life, and hope for some exciting things to happen during the next two years! April 2013 can't come soon enough!
Other than this friend biz, I am loving the time I get to spend at home with my family, even if I am not around that much. It is fun to be with the new little niece, Amaia and to spend time with her and with Austin, the adorable big brother. I have about six more weeks of school left until summer break begins! Many fun plans are in store for this summer, but those plans will come in a post in the near future.
I have about 2 weeks left until my first bike ride called the Goldilocks Ride in Herriman. I hope I am ready! My new road biking hobby has become expensive, but I think it is going to be worth it soon enough!

Birthday Business
The big 2-4 has now arrived. I had a fabulous weekend full of celebrations last week, and I LOVED every minute of it. I am so grateful for all of the people in my life who contributed to making it a great time. Whether you called me, texted me, or celebrated it with me in person, thank you for sharing the love.
From having a pizza/dance party with my students at school, "Fun Busing" to Wendover, to dinner with friends and an after party at my house.. It was a weekend to remember:
I was able to spend time with my family as well for my birthday, and I am so grateful to have them all in my life. You guys are my biggest support, even if you may think I think otherwise.. you are the greatest. Love you all!
This year I was able to spend a lot of my time with my good friend Cassidy Harris. She is a teacher at my school, who was born the exact same day as I, the exact same year. I do not know what I would have done at school with out her this year. I could go on and on about how we are kindred spirits, and how much I love her, but I will just say, she has climbed the charts of my favorite people in life. We had an excellent weekend sharing our birthday together.
Thanks to the Chinchilla and Halifax, you guys rock. Thank you for the love!
Only 40 more days until the fish comes home from her mission. This year of 24 is gonna be good. Yes yes it is.

Humans and Beta Fish
I always seem to find inspiration through the wonderful Stephen Christian, lead singer of Anberlin, one of my favorite bands. His words are so amazing! In his blog, "The Modesty Writers Guild," he always has thoughts that make you think. Make you think how to become a better person, or to simply just realize the deeper meaning of those experiences we have in this life.

His recent post refers to a beta fish and the effect that mirrors have on them. He also brings up the thought of attacking what flaws are pointed out about you in life, and not just taking it and humbling yourself. Stephen refers to the idea of a beta fish being territorial, just as we also can be territorial about ourselves personally when we feel like those "mirrors" in our lives are attacking us (i.e. friends, family and anyone else who truly show and tell us who we are).
We all do this, we all tend to feel attacked or offended for what others may say to us, especially if it hits SO close to home. When the imperfections come out in our lives, we respond in an attack mode. We are a protective people who defend what and who we care about. That is what makes us human.
If we are not careful though, we could end up breaking those mirrors, and losing those we care about in our lives, because we attack them so many times as they try to help us in life to become better people. Luckily, I have loved ones who care enough about me to stick around, no matter how many times I may blow up in their faces. We can't always feel attacked, and if we just continue to learn and avoid "attacking those mirrors" as Stephen would say, we can grow and reach our potential even more than we ever expected.
My food for thought, you can take it and gobble it up, or just leave it and say, no thanks.

Change? Why not?
I feel a change coming soon.. And I'm pretty sure it's just around the river bend..
I have been in the same spot for over a year and a half now, and I am getting a bit antsy, yes antsy to start something new..
The only thing I am going to say is I had a great chat with a certain Crystal Degen on Christmas day about life and her return home coming up this March.

The Thoughts that just keep coming..
The purpose of this post today? There really isn't one! It is just the fact that I get to actually breathe for a minute and have a chance to blog! So here are the random thoughts in my insanely scattered life:
Thought #1:
The stress of the holidays has been to the max, but it has still been enjoyable for me. Between getting my own Christmas ready and getting things done for my kids at school, it has been quite the last few weeks.
Thought #2:
I had a chat with a friend recently about how I cannot just sit down and "not be doing something." I feel as if I need to learn the definition of "relax" however, I don't know if that is possible. It is just in my nature to HAVE to be doing something. Going somewhere, spending time with someone, etc. My dearest mother told me I am all talk when I say I am actually going to stay home on a Saturday night. Ha. She knows me too well (However I did prove her wrong a few weeks ago when I did stay home and watched episodes of Modern Family while I ironed shirts all night).
Thought #3:
I love this time of year and how love is in the air. ALL around! Makes me happy to see it, and to feel it as well.
Thought #4:
I love the Savior and his birth that brought us to where we are today. Keep this Christmas season alive!
Thought #5:
My sister missionary is being released on March 22nd! No words can describe my feelings for this.
Thought #6:
I love Sanuk shoes, as well as Modern Family.
Thought #7:
He is We. An amazing band that has made life so full of bliss as of late. Throw in some of the earlier albums of Anberlin as well and life has been rockin the last few weeks!

I love catching up with old friends who I have not seen since college. It is amazing how we all go our separate ways and can still be the same people we were back in our immature stages of life. Ha.

I love to flirt. It is too much fun to not do it.

I am thinking of teaching a hip hop class at the After School Club at my school during this last half of the school year. Bring on the moves baby!

Speaking of baby, my new little niece is going to be here so soon! Next week! Even though I am not a fan of new babies, it is going to be so great to have another member of our Rindlisbacher family. Good luck to Evelyn and Alex this next week.

I had a chat with a friend recently about how I cannot just sit down and "not be doing something." I feel as if I need to learn the definition of "relax" however, I don't know if that is possible. It is just in my nature to HAVE to be doing something. Going somewhere, spending time with someone, etc. My dearest mother told me I am all talk when I say I am actually going to stay home on a Saturday night. Ha. She knows me too well (However I did prove her wrong a few weeks ago when I did stay home and watched episodes of Modern Family while I ironed shirts all night).

I love this time of year and how love is in the air. ALL around! Makes me happy to see it, and to feel it as well.

I love the Savior and his birth that brought us to where we are today. Keep this Christmas season alive!

My sister missionary is being released on March 22nd! No words can describe my feelings for this.

I love Sanuk shoes, as well as Modern Family.

He is We. An amazing band that has made life so full of bliss as of late. Throw in some of the earlier albums of Anberlin as well and life has been rockin the last few weeks!

I love catching up with old friends who I have not seen since college. It is amazing how we all go our separate ways and can still be the same people we were back in our immature stages of life. Ha.

I love to flirt. It is too much fun to not do it.

I am thinking of teaching a hip hop class at the After School Club at my school during this last half of the school year. Bring on the moves baby!

Speaking of baby, my new little niece is going to be here so soon! Next week! Even though I am not a fan of new babies, it is going to be so great to have another member of our Rindlisbacher family. Good luck to Evelyn and Alex this next week.

When Unexpected hits you in the face.
Sometimes things happen that are so unexpected! I don't think I have understood the term "being speechless" until now. When the unexpected happens, it takes you by surprise and turns your whole world of thinking around. It makes you question what you have always known, or thought in life.
I have a hard time with this idea, because it has only happened a few times in life where I have been surprised or caught off guard. I am so used to things being predictable, and set in stone when it comes to my life. So when the unforeseen happens, I usually end up getting emotional like a little girl.. sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way, depending on the news of course.
I don't think there is much more to say than that. Congrats to the recent "Unexpected" that just came into my life. I will continue to welcome you into my life with open arms!

I have realized more and more over this past year how much I have taken for granted those people I know in my life..
I am sure a lot of people may think I talk a lot and I have a lot to say about myself (making me a super dramatic person..ha), but I promise I do listen to what others say. Sometimes I forget to find out what is going on in other's lives. Forgive me though, because I am kind of a spacey person and I am definitely NOT a multi-tasker.. :) It is definitely something I need to work on more, but I promise I strive to be the best I can be.
I have realized that no matter what anyone has gone through in their lives, I still try to be there for them as much as I can. I have SO many people that I associate with that are the biggest examples to me, and they may not know it, but I look up to them and strive to be just like them. You want to know who these people are? Well, if you talk to me at least once a week, or hang out with me, then you are one of those people. I make sure that I associate myself with those around me who I know will lift me up in life, and those who I can try to return the favor for.
And yes, this includes everyone who I associate with, even someone who I kneel down by my bed to talk to.
It just makes life so much more wonderful when you keep yourself high up there with those good people.
I have had too many let downs in life, too many flakey people that just don't seem to care enough to want to be with me, or make me a part of their lives. Those people can sit on the back burner in my life, and stop trying to tear me down, because babe, I ain't leavin this spot!

She is who she is.
This week at school, there were some complaints made from some of the other teachers about how loud Miss Rindlisbacher is after school, and even during school. Man, this is news to me. I had no idea I was so obnoxious! No one has ever told me that before in my entire life! Ha... If only that were actually true.
However, when the principal approaches me saying, "We love that about you!" then alas, I still have my job, and I don't have to start faking who I truly am at my job.. Thank heavens. Good news for everyone! Except for the teachers who have to listen to the obnoxious third grade teacher everyday :)

The Best Time of the Year..
This is Halloween. This is Halloween. Halloween.. Halloween.. Halloween.. Halloween!
My favorite time of the year. Man oh man, I get so excited just typing about it!
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved the season when my mother breaks out the Halloween decor and decks out the house with witches, pumpkins and ghosts. Even with the Peanut characters that go in front of the house in their pumpkin patch! This is the time when My siblings and I would watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, every year for Halloween and we still turned out normal as adults.. HA! Such a psychotic movie..
As I grew up, I was always a witch for Halloween. For some strange reason, that was just what I always wanted to be. Mom probably loved the fact that she did not have to buy a new costume every year for me. I have had the same witches hat ever since I was five years old.
And I still wear that same hat to this day :)
When I was in Logan, I started to branch out and have had some great costumes over the years, from a cowgirl, to Cat Woman, to Dracula (Which NO ONE could tell it was me.. ha), to being a Geisha, which was my absolute favorite of all time.
All through college, with my dear roommates, we would decorate our apartment on October 1st to get it ready for the season. We would always sing and dance to The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack while we did this, making it look like we were a little satanic, but we did not care. Thank you Steph and Crystal for those great memories.
I would also read Halloween books to my roommates every night in the dark as I wore my witches hat. Now, I get the opportunity to read them to my own students. Love this.
This year, my students saw that I had brought my Halloween decorations to school a little earlier than October 1st, just so I could store them in the classroom. They then asked me if we could please put them up before October. I was more than delighted to put them up a few days early, as I can't get enough of this fabulous season.
Not only do I get to celebrate Halloween here in Utah, but I get to go to Disneyland as well! AHH! I am so excited! My favorite time to go there is of course during this month when the entire place is decorated in pumpkins, filled with Jack Skelington and all of the villains of the Disney world. Some friends in Salt Lake and I are going and we even get to Trick or Treat with the characters.
Now, it is time to start thinking about my costume for this year...
